Hakodate

Firstly, I arrived at Hakodate leaving Kansai airport. It was said to be 13 degree Centigrade outside then. It was really cold. Take a look at Goryo-kaku and stayed Hakodate. Why Hakodate? Because my company wanted to have night sight-seeing there.

The sea of Hakodate

This is near air-port, I rushed toward the breakwater to see dark sea. From there, the city looked like this.

Mystery

One mysterious thing in Hokkaido is that dandelion is so huge. Look at the photo below. Somehow strange, right?

This mystery was solved several days after in. This was not a real dandelion. It was another sort of flower called dandelion-like.
And here is another mysterious flower. It became our star during our trip. We name it "nyoki nyoki". This is also extremely big. All over Hokkaido you can find it.

Night in Hakodate

I was expecting night sight-seeing, though Mt.Hakodate was surrounded by rain cloud. Instead we took a walk around and found a nice church. It was fun.

My company looked quite unhappy about night sight-seeing and complained. Take it easy!! Let's enjoy! These cats in Hakodate like to play with tourists. They entertained us, too.

This is not actually a church but a ropeway station. It doesn't seem it is.

And there is light everywhere in Hokkaido. Easy to walk outside at night time.

We stayed in the hotel in Hakodate. Next day we drove to Otaru.

Hakodate to Otaru

It was also bad weather next day. As to escape a rain cloud we drove toward the sea side. As I expected, we had great sunshine above our heads. Now on we never see rain cloud or so.

Driving along the sea. There were many cliffs and their faults which were beautiful.

There was also a fall.

We came via Benkei-misaki(cape), somehow there stood Benkei-kun waiting for Yoshitsune-san. Is this true??!! Looking panorama from the cape, the sun going forward the west is so shining.

This flower was on the cape, but I saw everywhere in Hokkaido. It's name is Ezokanzou in Japanese.

And this is a lighthouse. Tiled wall and concrete tower. Yes this is old style one but has stylish feel.
